Utopia's first release is a 4 track EP from one of our founders, jjamz. It's a deeper journey through the sounds of UK funky and Broken Beat, drawing from lighter jazz and soul samples layered over distinctively London rhythms. As a musician by trade, having played keyboard for two bands before producing this EP, the band influence is clear to see through the energy of the tracks, with layers which build and drop in a way akin to live music. Expect infectious grooves, intricate percussion, extended breakdowns and deep hitting basslines.

This EP marks a new wave of Utopia, in what feels like a natural progression of the party into a label. Utopia began post-lockdown in Manchester, as a space and platform for DJs and artists playing lesser seen broken beat and soulful club sounds, filling a vacuum that we felt within the Manchester dance music scene. As the years have gone by, we've brought our signature sound to a number of UK cities as well as a 2 month stint in New York (before relocating permanently to London), but our love for soulful dance music has never changed.
